Terms and conditions
Last updated: 6 October 2026
These terms govern the use of PDFya (pdfya.app). By using the website you accept them; if you do not agree, do not use it.
1. The service
PDFya offers online tools for working with PDF files: merging, splitting, converting, compressing, protecting and similar operations. It is free and requires no sign-up.
2. Who can use it
You may use PDFya if you are at least 14 years old. If you are younger, you need the permission and supervision of your parents or guardians. If you use it on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.
3. Licence to use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable and non-transferable permission to use PDFya in line with these terms. You acquire no rights over the website, its code or its brand.
4. Reasonable use and limits
- There is a maximum size per file and a maximum number of operations per hour. They may change without notice.
- The service is meant for manual use through the website. Automating it with programs, bots or scripts, or calling its servers directly from other websites or apps, is not allowed.
- We may limit or block access for anyone who abuses the service.
5. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- use PDFya for illegal purposes or to infringe other people's rights;
- upload files containing viruses or harmful code, or try to access PDFya's systems without authorization;
- overload, disrupt or degrade the service;
- unlock PDFs that are not yours or that you have no permission to unlock;
- copy, decompile or reverse engineer the website or its servers, or resell the service.
6. Your files
- Your files are yours. PDFya acquires no rights over them and handles them only to carry out the operation you ask for.
- You are responsible for their content and for having the right to use them, including any personal data about third parties they may contain.
- Files are discarded when the operation finishes, so we cannot recover them. Always keep a copy of your originals.
Data handling is described in the privacy policy.
7. Intellectual property
The name PDFya, the design of the website, its texts and its code belong to its owner and are protected by intellectual and industrial property law. Third-party libraries used by the website are governed by their own licences.
8. Availability and changes
We try to keep PDFya working well, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. We may modify, suspend or withdraw tools, or the whole service, at any time and without notice.
9. Warranties and liability
- The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee that the result will be identical to the original: compression reduces image quality, and converting from Word, Excel or PowerPoint may alter fonts or layout.
- Always check the result before using it, especially for important documents.
- To the extent permitted by law, PDFya is not liable for loss of data, loss of profit or other damage arising from the use of the service, its unavailability or the files it generates.
- None of the above limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
10. Third-party links and services
PDFya may include links to or content from third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at hosting providers, network failures, cyberattacks or decisions by an authority.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use PDFya after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, any dispute will be settled before the courts of your place of residence. Otherwise, before the courts that apply by law.
14. Other provisions
If any clause is found to be invalid, the rest remain in force. Not exercising a right at a given moment does not mean we waive it.
15. Contact
For any question about these terms, write to info@pdfya.app.
