Is the quality loss noticeable?
With the recommended level, barely. Low keeps more quality and high reduces the size further.
Does the image size change?
No. It keeps the same width and height in pixels and the same format; it just weighs less.
How is a PNG compressed?
By reducing its number of colours, which is what takes most space. On logos and screenshots it is barely noticeable; for photos, converting to JPG is better.
What if it does not shrink?
If the image was already optimised, the original is returned and you are told.
What happens to my files?
They are sent encrypted, processed and discarded when the job is done. PDFya does not store or review them.
Is it free?
