Print large PDF on A4: how it works

  1. Select the drawing in PDF.
  2. Choose your printer's paper (A4 or A3) and the overlap between sheets.
  3. Press “Split into sheets”, print at 100% and join the sheets at the marks.

Frequently asked questions

Is the scale of the drawing kept?

Yes. The drawing is not reduced: it is spread over several sheets at its real size. Print at 100%, with “fit to page” turned off.

What is the overlap for?

Each sheet repeats a strip of the next one so you can assemble and glue them without losing content. The dashed line shows where the neighbouring sheet fits.

How many sheets will it take?

It depends on the size: an A1 takes about 15 A4 sheets or 8 A3 sheets. The tool picks the orientation that uses less paper, up to a maximum of 80 sheets.

What happens to my files?

They are sent encrypted, processed and discarded when the job is done. PDFya does not store or review them.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no added watermark. There is a limit of 20 MB per file and 30 operations per hour.
