Frequently asked questions
Does quality improve as PNG?
It does not improve, but it does not get worse either: PNG stores the image as it is, without compressing it again. Useful if you will edit it several times.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG keeps its background. To remove it, use “Remove background” afterwards.
Why is the PNG bigger?
Because it loses no information when compressing. For photos, a PNG is usually much larger than the JPG.
What happens to my files?
They are sent encrypted, processed and discarded when the job is done. PDFya does not store or review them.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no added watermark. There is a limit of 20 MB per file and 30 operations per hour.
