Passport photo: how it works

  1. Select a front-facing photo with a plain light background and good lighting.

Which sizes are included?

UK passport and Schengen visa (35 × 45 mm), US passport and visa (2 × 2 in) and Canadian passport (50 × 70 mm).

Will my photo be accepted?

The tool only sets the size. Background, expression and how recent the photo is are up to you: check the official requirements for your application.

How do I print it?

Download the 4 × 6 in sheet and print it as a normal photo at any shop or kiosk, without resizing or cropping. Then cut along the lines.

Is the photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping is done in your browser and the photo never leaves your device.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no added watermark. There is a limit of 20 MB per file and 30 operations per hour.
